Matthew Barley is celebrating the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth with a national tour showcasing Britten's Third Cello Suite, alongside two of Bach's great Suites, No's 2 and 5. The recital also incorporates some contemporary works including Thrinos by John Taverner.
As an added dimension to this innovative programme, Matthew has commissioned an animated film made up of a series of paintings on glass, which will be projected during the Britten, accompanying its narrative structure.
