Acker Bilk gained worldwide fame with his single Stranger on the Shore, which topped the charts in both the UK and USA in 1962 and in the process not only broke records around the world, but became one of the most successful singles of all time.
A string of hits followed and Acker and his Paramount Jazz Band firmly established themselves as one of the most successful and best loved British jazz bands. This Great Master of the Clarinet has a style which is unique and, together with his band, still blows up a storm!
