Inspired by Russian composer Alexander Scriabin's mystical interest in synesthesia, pianist Mikhail Kazakevich has chosen a programme of music which he will perform to the accompaniment of coloured lights and selected fragrances. Four French masters, Debussy, Ravel, Roussel and Dukas, are combined with Scriabin, their remarkable Russian contemporary, in a sequence which culminates in a virtuoso transcription of an orchestral showpiece: the Sorcerer’s Apprentice made famous by Walt Disney in Fantasia.
