With its unique and spellbinding sound, the Wihan Quartet has made an impact in concert venues across the globe. The Quartet was formed in 1985, and is still made up of the original four members. They have an outstanding reputation for both the interpretation of their native Czech repertoire and many masterpieces of the string quartet repertoire.

Martin Kasik, an outstanding young Czech pianist, makes his Festival debut performing the powerful Brahms's Piano Quintet and Schumann's Kreisleriana, a beautifully-moulded solo masterwork of romantic pianism. Beethoven's Opus 18, written for string quartet was his response to the classical quartets he encountered in Vienna.
