John Traill conductor
Poom Prommachart piano

Conductor John Traill will introduce the world of orchestral sound in an hour-long programme of music from Central and Eastern Europe. Last year’s Sheepdrove Piano Competition Winner, Poom Prommachart, will join Newbury Symphony Orchestra to perform the Piano Concerto No 2 by Shostakovich – its beautiful slow movement a favourite of Classic FM listeners.

Since its foundation in 1879 the Newbury Symphony Orchestra has been proud to participate in the cultural life of the Newbury area. In this afternoon’s performance its enthusiastic amateur members will also play works by Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Brahms and Dvorak.

Suitable for children aged 5 and above this concert will appeal to children, parents and grandparents alike!
