Bruce Sansom Director

The Festival is delighted to welcome Ballet Central to the Corn Exchange for their debut performance in Newbury. Ballet Central is Central School of Ballet’s graduate touring company, formed in 1984 to give their graduate year students first hand experience of professional dance plus the unique opportunity to experience ‘life on the road’ with a touring company.

Ballet Central’s 2009 tour offers the rare opportunity to see some of the world’s most talented young dancers perform a unique programme of works by renowned choreographers David Bintley (Birmingham Royal Ballet), Richard Alston (Richard Alston Dance Company) and the late Christopher Gable (founder of Central School of Ballet). In addition, Ballet Central will be performing new works from dancer/choreographers Matthew Hart and Mikaela Polley.

Philip Feeney, Musical Director of Ballet Central, will provide live accompaniment during the programme.
