Schubert Duo in A major, Op. 162
Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28

Romanian born Vlad Maistorovici, winner of the Remember Enescu International Competition and a Finalist for YCAT, has performed concerti and recitals at major venues in Europe. He is also an active composer and as one of six young composers taking part in the Britten-Pears programme his work for chamber orchestra, Ocean Wing, was premiered at the Aldeburgh Festival. Vlad is accompanied by Diana Ionescu, also from Romania, whose prize winning career has ensured engagements at many international venues and festivals.

Their Young Artists Recital opens with Mozart’s moving Sonata in E minor and is followed by Schubert’s Duo in A major, a composition in which the violin and piano are equal partners. The closing piece is one of Saint-Saëns most popular works.
