Giffords Circus

Thursday 15 May - Sunday 18 May

Nell Gifford   director

Giffords Circus is a charming, fairytale recreation of a 1930's circus, complete with jugglers, strong men, aerialists and equestrian artists. Their new show Caravan receives its premiere in Newbury where the whole circus company will stay in beautiful old gypsy caravans in their own circus village in Victoria Park.

Nell Gifford, circus director, is Europe's only female circus owner. Caravan is set in 1900 at a gypsy horse fair, and is a magical story of love and marriage. Performed in a traditional big top tent, you will see circus acts from Russia, Eastern Europe and the UK, a brass band from Paris, clowns, horses, Harris hawks and much more.

Giffords Circus is a return to childhood innocence and a genuine family affair - roll up, roll up everybody, the circus is coming to town! The show is suitable for all ages.

Before their final performance in Newbury, Giffords Circus will lead a spectacular parade of local children through the town to celebrate 30 years of the Newbury Spring Festival.
