Keston Sutherland
Wednesday 14 May
As part of his residency, Keston Sutherland will be performing his
poetry with improvised music and sound by the renowned avantgarde
jazz duo the Pleasure-Drenching Improvers (PDI).
Established in 2000, PDI make fully improvised music of complex
but immediately compelling structures, using very unorthodox
instruments: bricks, copper piping, spatulas, dictaphones,
microphones and feedback loops.
The music is made without any score, pre-conceived scheme,
or even prior discussion. Keston has worked together with PDI
a number of times in the past, always with fascinating results.
