DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to welcome back the BBC Symphony Orchestra after their postponed appearance in 2020. \nAs part of the BBC’s complete cycle of Vaughan Williams’ symphonies\, to mark his 150th anniversary\, Ryan Wigglesworth will conduct the rarely performed Symphony No. 4\, described by Walton as the ‘greatest symphony since Beethoven’. \nThe first half will feature Van Cliburn prize winner Vadym Kholodenko in Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto\, one of the monumental masterpieces of the repertoire.
