DESCRIPTION:The Carice Singers\nThe Carice Singers: A Bridge of Song\nUnder their founder and conductor George Parris\, The Carice Singers are celebrating their 10th Anniversary in 2021. Named after Elgar’s daughter\, they specialise in British choral music and have gained an enviable reputation for superb performances and imaginative programming. They have recorded for Naxos and the BBC Music Magazine\, and are regular visitors to the Cheltenham and Oxford Lieder Festivals. \nUsing the power of song as its motivation\, this is a programme which will resonate in the aftermath of the pandemic. Combining stirring pieces by British composers with new Nordic favourites together with a brief reflection of events of the USA’s recent past in works by Alex Freeman and Undine Smith Moore. These three diverse and accomplished musicians bring a contemporary approach to famous themes from classical music and opera\, taking inspiration from the Jacques Loussier Trio\, Dave Brubeck Quartet and Bill Evans Trio.
