SUMMARY:Russian Soul: The Story of Rachmaninov in Song
DESCRIPTION:Russian Soul: The Story of Rachmaninov in Song\nEverybody knows Rachmaninov … until you ask them\, and they realise they don’t: he’s an enigma. His songs can be a mystery to audiences who don’t speak Russian and have no idea how they connect with an extraordinary life. So the Russian soprano Ilona Domnich\, pianist Sholto Kynoch and critic/broadcaster Michael White have put together a words-and-music concert to explain all. \nRussian Soul: the Story of Rachmaninov in Song tells a dramatic tale that starts in Imperial Russia\, ends in Beverley Hills\, sweeps through old and new worlds\, penniless exile\, comfortless fame\, and asks searching questions along the way. Hear the composer with fresh ears\, and be astonished. \n  \nIlona Domnich\nSholto Kynoch\nMichael White\n\n\n\n\nIlona Domnich soprano\nSholto Kynoch piano\nMichael White narrator \nSponsored by Martelize\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note all programmes and events are subject to change and last minute alteration subject to the latest Government Covid guidelines. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
