SUMMARY:Young Artists Recital 5: Deschanel Gordon
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nAlthough he has only just graduated from Trinity Laban\, pianist Deschanel Gordon is already making waves on the UK jazz scene winning BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020. One of the brightest prospects of his generation he has worked with the likes of Mark Kavuma\, Cassie Kinoshi’s SEED Ensemble and US-born singer Judi Jackson. \nHe has performed at many of London’s best-known jazz venues\, including the 606 Club\, Ronnie’s Scott’s\, the Jazz Café\, the Barbican and Cadogan Hall. He also travelled widely\, playing at jazz festivals in Europe and the USA\, including Moods in Zurich\, New York’s Winter Jazz Festival\, Jazz TM in Romania and Fasching in Sweden. DESCRIPTION:In the week following the opening of a new production at English National Opera\, the first in London for over 20 years\, and the day after Liz Robertson\, (Alan J Lerner’s widow)’s visit to the Festival\, we are delighted to offer a rare opportunity to see this classic British film version of Lerner and Lowe’s My Fair Lady on the big screen. \nBased on G B Shaw’s Pygmalion\, My Fair Lady tells the story of Eliza Doolittle\, a young cockney flower peddler who meets by chance Henry Higgins.
