DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nWe welcome Ben Goldscheider to the Festival for this morning masterclass ahead of his evening performance with the London Mozart Players. \nNominated by the Barbican as an ECHO Rising Star for the 2021/22 season\, Ben \nGoldscheider has given recitals at major concert halls across Europe including at the Concertgebouw\, Musikverein\, Pierre Boulez Saal\, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg\, Köln Philharmonie and Wigmore Hall\, amongst others. \nHe has previously appeared at the Festival in both a Young Artist Lunchtime Recital\, and last year with his trio at Burghclere Church. \nThis public masterclass is presented as part of the Festival’s education programme and is open to all local school-age brass players. This sextet plays the music of jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie\, directed by Mark Armstrong. \nJohn Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie is a jazz icon. An epochal trumpeter\, bandleader\, composer\, educator and singer\, his combination of musicianship\, showmanship\, and wit defined the new sound of 1940s bebop.
