SUMMARY:Come and Sing Evensong
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nCome and Sing with other local choir members and musicians for this special Festival Evensong at St. John’s Church under the direction of Janet Coxwell\, Steve Bowey and Christopher Sears.  \nDon’t worry if you have little or no experience of singing in a choir for Evensong. The idea of the afternoon is to gather people together from the musical community of Newbury\, to raise our voices and to enjoy taking part in something a little bit different. \nMusic for the service is available online in advance (see below) for those who register to sing\, ready for the rehearsal on the day.  \nEvensong is held at many cathedrals and churches and provides a restful\, peaceful and contemplative time at the even point of the day\, between the end of the working day and nighttime. DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nThe Romano Viazzani Ensemble\nSeven outstanding musicians from the worlds of classical\, jazz and Latin-American music come together to play and create tango and tango-inspired music. The five instrumentalists and two singers are joined this evening by a pair of tango dancers to further bring the music to life. \nBased on the line up of Astor Piazzolla’s famous quintet\, they recreate music that ranges from Piazzolla’s own works to classic Argentine and European tango.
