DESCRIPTION:Seen as the one of the most exciting chamber ensembles of their generation\, the Paddington Trio\, winners of the 2023 Parkhouse Award\, have been recognised in international competitions and live performances for their fresh interpretations and exuberant energy. Like the famous bear of the same name\, Finnish violinist Tuulia Hero\, Irish cellist Patrick Moriarty and American pianist Stephanie Tang have made London their home. They are now considered one of the leading piano trios of their generation. \nThe trio is celebrated for its close and energetic communication\, insightful and imaginative programming as well as its highly refined ensemble playing. DESCRIPTION:An Evening of Tango\, Music and Dance\nThe Romano Viazzani Ensemble brings together seven outstanding musicians from the worlds of classical\, jazz and Latin-American music to play and create tango and tango-inspired music. \nBased on the line up of Astor Piazzolla’s famous quintet they recreate music that ranges from Piazzolla’s own works to classic Argentine and European tango. DESCRIPTION:Simon Johnson became Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral in September 2021\, following 13 years as the Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral. He was involved in all of the national occasions that took place at St Paul’s during this time\, playing for Her Majesty the Queen\, the Dalai Lama\, as well as numerous Prime Ministers and Archbishops. \nWe are pleased to be presenting this evening recital in partnership with Douai Abbey on the Vigil of the Feast of the Ascension. SUMMARY:Foyle-Štšura Duo
DESCRIPTION:Michael Foyle and Maksim Štšura\, critically acclaimed for their live performances and recordings of works from the 17th Century to the present day\, came together in 2012 and won the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition and the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Duo Competition in 2015. \nFor tonight’s recital in the iconic venue of Englefield House’s Long Gallery\, Michael and Maksim will perform three of the most popular violin sonatas in the repertoire: Beethoven’s fresh and vibrant ‘Spring Sonata’ sits alongside the poetic G major Sonata of Brahms\, where the composer revisits the ‘Regenlied’ theme of one of his earlier songs.
