Their performance will include classic tunes by the great composers of the genre: Astor Piazzolla, Anibal Troilo, Pedro Laurenz, Agustin Bardi and Vicente Greco amongst others. The arrangements are conceived with a modern sound in mind, respecting the essential form and phrasing of tango that never fail to get your feet tapping. © Nikolaj Lund Javier Fioramonti guitar Martin Espindola bandoneon Enrique Galassi double bass Monday 8 May Young Artists Recital Ensemble Augelletti Today’s recital The Library of a Prussian Princes s, tells the story of Anna Amalia, Princess of Prussia (1723-1787), an extraordinary woman who made an enormous contribution to cultural life in 18th Century Berlin. This programme highlights music from her personal library and combines well-known favourites by Handel and J S Bach with music by Anna Amalia, Geminiani, and C P E Bach. Founded in 2019 by recorder player Olwen Foulkes, Ensemble Augelletti specialises in creating programmes that connect baroque chamber music to the every-day stories of people living in the 18th century. The ensemble has performed on BBC Radio 3 In Tune and Early Music shows, in several UK Arts Festivals; London, Brighton, and York Early Music Festivals. Ensemble Augelletti were winners of the FBAS young artist competition in Italy in 2019 and finalists of the York International Young Artists Competition in 2022.
