They open tonight’s concert with the hypnotic Benjamin Britten Cantus in Memoriam , written by their fellow countryman Arvo Pärt in 1977. Freddy Kempf is one of today’s most successful pianists performing to sell-out audiences all over the world. Freddy will be performing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 1, which while not as well-known as the No. 2, is one of the great works for piano and orchestra. The second half will feature Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, From the NewWorld , giving a chance to experience The Estonian Symphony Orchestra at their finest, all under the baton of their Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Olari Elts. The Budapest Café Orchestra was established in 2009 by British composer and violinist, Christian Garrick, and led by him have won legions of fans with their magical and infectious performances.
