The Alinde Quintet, a prizewinning ensemble at the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen in 2023 and a rising star ensemble of Czech chamber music will bring an all-Czech programme to the Festival. Their concert will be part of the Year of Czech Music supported by the Czech Centre London.
Starting with a colourful quintet by Pavel Haas, a promising composer whose life was cut short in a concentration camp, the quintet will continue with a suite from The Cunning Little Vixen by Pavel Haas’ teacher Leoš Janáček and conclude with Antonín Dvořák‘s magnificent American Quartet, one of the most famous Czech chamber pieces of all time.
