Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko won the Van Cliburn competition in 2013 and has gone on to become one of the finest pianists of his generation. Combining fierce pianism, an unrivalled breadth of repertoire, and a level of interpretative refinement that transcends to the realms of poetry, Vadym Kholodenko rises as an artist the likes of which the world has rarely seen since the great pianists of the Golden Age.
Anyone who heard his performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto at the 2022 Festival with BBC Symphony Orchestra will never forget it and we are delighted to bring him back for this solo performance.
“Playing that pulls no punches: Kholodenko is in the elite of classical pianists.”
