Newbury Spring Festival Calls for Musicians and Performers to Join Spectacular Festival Parade
Newbury Spring Festival is set to launch its 2025 season with a spectacular Festival Parade, and local musicians, choirs, dancers, and performers are invited to take part in this vibrant celebration. Taking place on Saturday, 10 May 2025, the parade will begin at 4.30pm, weaving through Newbury town centre, led by the striking Giant Bandmaster puppet. Performers will need to be available from 3pm to prepare for this lively event, which will mark the official opening of the festival.
In partnership with Corn Exchange Newbury, and generously funded by Greenham Trust, the festival is seeking community bands, choirs, musical ensembles, and dancers to help create an unforgettable display of music and movement. This is a fantastic opportunity for local talent to showcase their skills and be part of an event that brings together the community in a joyful and creative way. Participation is free but unpaid, and groups will be responsible for their own rehearsals. All acts must be available for a parade rehearsal in the week leading up to the event.
“This is a brand-new event for Newbury Spring Festival, designed to bring the local community together in a celebration of music,” said Festival General Manager Ashley Morris. “Music is at the heart of this town, whether through the incredible work that local groups and schools achieve or in Newbury’s ability to attract world-class musicians to perform here. We hope this parade will showcase the rich musical talent in our area while creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.”
