The Festival’s journey of music and wine continues with a tasting of American food and Californian wines, followed by a performance of some of the finest American tunes of the 1920s and onwards from The Great American Songbook.
Jazz duo Miranda Heldt and Jamie Safir have been exploring and performing The Great American Songbook together since they met in 2019. Both graduates of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Miranda studied classical voice while Jamie focussed on jazz piano.
Resident artists at The Ritz London, Miranda and Jamie continue to perform together throughout the UK, including shows at Crazy Coqs at Zédels, Hampstead Jazz Club and various Soho venues. Jamie has recently performed with Kylie Minogue at the Royal Albert Hall and Will Young at The Vineyard, and Miranda performs regularly in Barbados.
Tonight’s programme will give you a selection of the finest American tunes from Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and George and Ira Gershwin to name but a few.
