Calefax, inventors of a completely new genre – the reed quintet – is a close-knit ensemble of five reed players united by a shared passion. For over thirty-five years, they have been acclaimed in the Netherlands and abroad for their virtuosic playing, brilliant arrangements and innovative stage presentation.
Their programme will include a variety of specially arranged works for this unique ensemble, including a Bach Fantasia and Fugue, four of Debussy’s Preludes, a Dvořák Quintet and Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
