Today’s recital, Monteverdi and His Venetian Legacy, is a journey through the rich musical heritage of Venetian composers from the late Renaissance to the Baroque, featuring works by Monteverdi, Cavalli and Vivaldi.
Bellot Ensemble is a London based early music group formed of recent alumni and current students from all of the London music conservatoires. The ensemble prides itself on providing a platform for talented historical performance soloists to perform within a period instrument group. Showcased by Brighton Early Music Festival in 2023, they have also been selected for the semi-final of the Loire Valley International Early Music Competition in 2024, and recently performed a programme of early 17th century Italian repertoire at the Utrecht Early Music Festival.
